Research, experimentation and development
In the upholstery branch, the research and development activity takes the form of the meeting and collaboration between two key figures: designers – engaged in anticipating the tastes of the final consumer thanks to the signals coming from the fashion world and the evolution of lifestyles – and production technicians – who have to translate the input of designers and eventual requirements of the specifications into finished products.
In the prototype room, new fattening, retanning and coloring products are tested in a constant experimentation activity that involves the use of three drums and a complete finishing line with prints, staking machines, fulling and kela.
The experiments and tests carried out in the prototype room also concern hides already “in progress”, in the continuous search for greater approximation to the desired “masters”.
Quality control and Lab
For ILG, quality is the heart of production activities. The articles being processed are subjected to a step by step control, before and after each work phase. The aim is to identify possible problems immediately.
All the control phases are planned within the Control Plan which shows the methods and the requirements to be met. The methods and frequency of sampling are managed through the information system that automatically and directly alerts the operators in charge.
At the end of the production process, the test laboratory, which operates in compliance with ISO / IEC 17025 and through a special “” tree of standards “” which guarantees the upgradability and traceability of all the references, is able to run the tests reported in the customer specifications, including:
• resistance to wet and / or dry rubbing
• flexural strength
• adhesion of the finish
• fog test
• sun test
